Klaus G. Troitzsch, born in 1946, graduated from the University of Hamburg in 1972 as a political scientist, took his PhD in political science from the same university in 1979 and passed his habilitation at the Koblenz computer department in 1984. He was professor of computer applications in the social sciences from 1986 to 2012. He is co-founder of the European Social Simulation Association (ESSA), and he is forum editor and member of the consortium publishing the Journal of Artificial Societies and Social Simulation. He has published a large number of papers and several books in the field and organised and co-organised several conferences on simulation in economics and social sciences.
